Through the development of business export programs and marketing plans, Economic Development can assist Tasmanian businesses to develop export trade relationships. Economic Development uses strategic alliances and networks to co-ordinate a number of promotional and trade related activities for the Food and Beverage Industry including exhibiting at trade shows, facilitating national and international hotel promotions as well as organising inward buyer programs. The Tasmanian Food and Beverage Guide from Australia's gourmet island State, was developed as a reference tool for potential buyers of Tasmanian Produce. The Tasmanian Food and Beverage Guide lists those Tasmanian businesses that are currently supplying, or are interested in supplying, interstate or export markets with Tasmanian produce. It is used at trade exhibitions, trade and media promotions, inward buyer missions and general agri-food business enquiries.
